RAD Women

Sergeant Mike Keegan heads the Police Division’s Women’s Self Defense Program. The program consists of several weeks of self-defense training including personal protection techniques and general crime prevention methods. The classes are held one day a week for several weeks. The program ends with students participating in preventing a simulated attack.

“The class builds confidence”, says Sergeant Keegan. “The students learn a lot of practical self defense techniques. I’d be afraid to fight against some of our graduates, some get really good.”

Contact Sergeant Mike Keegan at 535-1156 to register for the next available class.

RAD Kids

The Moraine Police Division offers a Children’s Self Defense Program. It’s very similar to the Women’s program but is specifically geared toward children and the dangers they often face.

In addition to defending against physical attacks, they also learn some general crime prevention techniques, like what to say or not to say when talking on the telephone, not getting into a car with strangers, what to do in case of a fire and how to effectively call for help, among numerous other topics.

R.A.D. Kids is a 5-week program, taught on Saturdays at the Moraine Municipal Building. This is a FREE program. If interested, please contact Sergeant Mike Keegan at 535-1156 to register for the next available class.
